Extension to form three new classrooms and associated facilities in the Cotswolds.

THE BRIEF

Spicer Surveys Ltd were instructed to design and procure works to provide this new teaching block in Broadway to replace some old mobile classrooms. Working closely with the Academy, school and planning department, Spicer Surveys were able to maximise the space they had available to form the new teaching and associated facilities.

WHAT WE DID

Spicer Surveys Ltd were involved right from the start, working with the Academy to provide initial development plan, costings and concept design. The works were fully funded from various sources and from there we provided full project management support ensuring CDM compliance and monitoring the project until completion.

Spicer Surveys fulfilled the Principal Designer role and provided services including but not limited to:

  • Feasibility study

  • Measured & Topographical surveys

  • Architectural Design & Statutory Consents

  • Project Management

  • Contract Administration

  • Cost Planning & CDM compliance

The project was carried out over a 6 month period, 4 of which were whilst the school was occupied. The tight site constraints and limited access made the project all the more challenging for our team of experts to overcome.

THE RESULT

The completed project provided the school with much needed teaching and learning space as well as providing sustainable and renewable energy, finishing on time and on budget to the complete satisfaction of the client.
